Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! Presence Speech is a Medicare B provider. Before you book for an initial assessment, please make sure it is Medicare B, not other types of Medicare.

Your health insurance company will consider Presence Speech Therapy as an out-of-network provider. Depending on your health plans, your insurance company may cover part or all of the speech therapy provided by us. We will provide you with a summary of care called a Super Bill each month, and you or your family can submit it to your insurance company and the company will determine whether or not your speech therapy cost will be reimbursed. You may also call your insurance company ahead of time.

Yes. Presence believes speech therapy should not end because of what insurance companies are willing to cover. We provide out-of-pocket services at a discount rate for those who do not have access to speech therapy through insurance.

There are many benefits to speech therapy out of pocket. Because there are no restrictions placed by your insurance company as to what your speech therapy should consist of, we can jump right into things that matter to you, rather than wasting your time and your insurance money by completing assessment tests determined by the insurance. Speech therapy through insurance is usually restricted to 30 minutes, which is not the case with private-pay speech therapy companies. We will see you for a full hour so that you will get the maximum benefits out of your sessions.

When you see an outpatient service at a hospital and pay out of pocket, it is approximately twice as much as what we charge due to overhead costs. Because Presence Speech Therapy has chosen to adapt with a simple practice model of a single speech pathologist via in-home therapy, we are able to provide speech therapy services at a much reasonable rate.

If you are a private-pay client, we will provide services until you no longer need therapy. If you are a Medicare client, we will request your Primary Care Physician and Medicare to extend therapy for as long as you need speech therapy.

The frequency of therapy should be determined by our speech pathologist, based on your current condition, medical diagnosis, fatigue levels, and our availability. We typically recommend 2-3 times a week of speech therapy for a recent or a severe case, and once a week for those who need maintenance of acquired skills.

Yes! If you are a Medicare client, we will send Authorization for Treatment to your Primary Care Physician within 30 days of the initial evaluation. We also submit progress reports, and a discharge report when you no longer require therapy. If you are a private pay client, we can communicate with your doctor’s office in a similar way upon request.

We provide a free consultation before you book for an initial evaluation. We will ask you questions about your current situation, frustration, wants/needs and goals. We will answer any questions you may have. As we get to know you, you will get to know our speech pathologist, and how she interacts with you and your family. By the end of the consultation, you will know if Presence Speech Therapy is a good fit for you.

Of course! We are here to help you. Please call or email us and book a free consultation.
